BEEF MARKET STEADY.
VALUES SUSTAINED. Last week's values were easily sustained at the Westfield stock smiles to-day. There was a good demand for beef, which sold steadily. Alfred Bucklnnd and Sons. Limited, report:—At our weekly Westfleld fat stock market held to-day we penned 22!) head of cattle, as compared wicli 284 last week. There were 112 steers and 117 cows and heifers. The quality of the ox beef was well up to standard and sold steadily throughout, last week's values being easily sustained. Prime young cows and heifevs also realised late rates. Rough and plain cows were easier. Extra choice ox sold to 20/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 17/ to 19/; secondary plain, 15/ to Hi/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 10/ to 19/; ordinary cow beef, 10/ to 15/. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £8 5/ to £0; heavy prime steers, £7 to £8 1.")/; lighter, £5 15/ to £0 17/<): light. £4 15/ to £5 12/0; small and unfinished steers, £3 10/ to £4 12/6; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers. £4 15/ to £5 C/; heavy, £3 10/ to £4 12/0; lighter, £2 10/ to £3 7/6; other killablo cows, £1 10/ to £2 7/6.

Dalgcty and Company, Limited, reports: At our weekly Westfield fat stock market hold to-day we yarded 232 head of beef, comprising 06 steers and 106 cows, as against 201 head last week. The quality of the ox beef was well up to standard and values again ruled at late rates. Wellh'nished lines of young cows and heifers realised late rates, while values for older and heavier sorts were easier. Extra choico ox sold to 20/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 17/ to 19/; just killable, 14/ to 16/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 16/ to 19/; just killable, 12/ to 15/.
