SPEEDY ACTION.
Britain Insists on Revision of French Quotas. EQUALITY WITH U.S. WANTED. LONDON", January 25. The "Daily Telegraph" states that the Cabinet lias taken swift action to secure a revision of the French import quotas. It has instructed Lord Tyrrell, British Ambassador in Paris, to demand treatment equal to that accorded to the United States, whose quotas were restored 100 per cent after a protest from Washington. While France discriminates against Britain the latter will not negotiate an An"lo-French commercial treaty, for whTch the French Government is most anxious. Whitehall declines to admit that France is entitled to penalise British goods in order to secure a bargaining weapon.
