BRITISH PUBLIC'S TASTES. PRESENTATION OF TROPHY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association., WELLINGTON, Thursday. Recognising the wonderful potentialities of the British market for suitable pork, the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, has donated a valuable challenge cup to the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand for a carcase best suited for conversion into bacon to suit the tastes of the British public. The carcases will be judged at Smithfield by competent English judges and the three most suitable carcases will be brought back to New Zealand by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board and exhibited in different centres to allow growers to see what is required for the British trade. The trophy will be known as the Bledisloe Bacon Pig Challenge Cup, and will be awarded for the best bacon pig exhibited at any of the Royal Agricultural Society's Shows. The judging will be from the standpoint of British requirements.
