YACHTING.

FIRST Z RACE TO WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Wednesday. The first race for tbe New Zealand Z class championship was sailed to-day in a fresh north-easterly wind over a nine-milo triangular course. Nine boats competed. The race resulted: Wellington 1, Ivaiapoi 2, JnvercargiU S. The Plimmerton boat capsized and Porirua was disqualified for fouling LyttPlton, which withdrew owing to a mishap to gear. The Christchureh boat was half swamped in the last round. The next race will be held to-morrow morning.
