! FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. BUSINESS IS BRISK. GOVERNMENT STOCKS IN DEMAND. Business on the Auckland Stock Exeha'nge continues brisk, and e <a big list of sales covering a wide range of securities has been finalised ovtr the hist 21 houre. Values generally arc firm at late rates. A special feature at the mom cut is a strong demand for Government issues, and fair business has been done in tine class. Auckland Gas shares seemed a shade easier at this morning's call, being available at the last sale price, namely £1 4/. In t*ie mining section Okaritos again attracted attention, and buyers moved up to 9/3, with holders asking 9/6. Banks Firm At Noon. Bank shares were firm at the noon call, and there were later buyers of New Zealand* at only 2d below the market price, -while more were available. Business generally was somewhat quieter, showing a reluctance of buyers to follow the strong upward trend of the past few days. The morning's quotations, except in a few instances, were unchanged.
