CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.

AUCKLAND GUN CLUB. The olny bird championship meeting of the Auckland Gun Club was held at Pakuranga on Saturday afternoon. The club championship, 21 birds from the 18yds mark, for the Hazard memorial silver pheasant trophy, a trophy presented by the club, and a sweepstakes, resulted in a keen contest between C. Sncdden, club champion in 1033, And SI. Pratt. These shooters secured the possible and divided first and second money. Tj. Peterson and C. E. Hodge divided third money' with 20 breaks. In the shoot off Pratt dropped his 10th bird, Seddon securing his and winning the club championship for two consecutive years. Both shooters were in great form, Pratt gaining 30 birds with his first barrell and Seddon 38 with his first and two with his second. The shooting was generally good, the average per shooter being 19.5, with a possible of 21. Seddon's record for the day was outstanding. he having shot 60 birds out of a possible of 60. The results of the remaining events were : — First 10 Birds Handicap Match.—M. Pratt. 19yds; C. Seddon, ISyds; K. H. Bartley, 14yds: W. Grant, 14yds; each with the possible divided the sweepstake. Second 10 Birds Handicap Match. —C. Seddon, 20yds, L. Peterson, 18yds, W. Grtant, 14yds. shot the possible and divided the sweepstake.
