A sharp thunderstorm, accompanied by heavy rain, broke over the city about 2 p.m. yesterday, the rain continuing until close on 4 o'clock, and it was decided to postpone play until to-morrow morning. The unfinished games in the second and third rounds were completed in the forenoon. In the second game in section A, on the Caversham green, Devereaux (Kaikorai) had an easy victory over Carewell (Taieri), the score being in Kaikorai's favour. Deare (Dunedin), Gilbert (Karori) and Devereaux (Kaikorai) head the list in the section with three wins each. In section B, Young (Xaitoa) and Claridge (Caledonian) have three wins each. In section C, keen interest was taken in the game between Tyrrell, Roslyn and Walker (Auckland). The lastnamed got 5 on the second to last head, giving him a lead of 7. Tyrrell had a chance to trail for 7 with his last bowl for a tie, and narrowly failed, securing a 4 and finishing 3 down. Ferguson (Balmacewen), with three wins, is- the only unbeaten rink in this section. In section D, Martin (Sumner) has not been seriously pressed, and has won all three games, and in Section E Currie (West End, Timaru) has won all his games. In section F Thompson (Phoenix) and Irvine (Edendale) are unbeaten with three wins each, and in section G Usher (Anderson's Bay, Anderson, Timaru) and Harraway (Dunedin) have each won all their games. Muston (Carlton) is the only unbeaten rink in Section H, and in section I three rinks are similarly placed, Ives (Edgeware, Christchurch), Lambeth (Balmacewen, Dunedin) and Bandy (Papanui, Christchurch).
