NINE TENDERS.

IYA'S NEW STUDIO. BOARD'S DECISION NEXT WEEK. Nine tenders for the construction of the new IYA studio at the top of Shortland Street were received by the architects, Messrs. Wade and Bartley, when tenders closed at noon to-day. Tenders for the erection of the new IYA transmitting plant at Henderson close in Wellington at noon to-morrow. A meeting of the New Zealand Broadcasting Board will be held on January 24 to discuss and make a decision on both sets of tenders. The Auckland member of the Broadcasting Board, Mr. G. R. Hutchinson, was at the architects' office when tenders closed to-day. The tenders are to be sent on to Wellington unopened, and the chairman of the board, Mr. H. D. Vickery, has been given authority by telegram to open them.
