WEEK-END WEATHER.

HEAVY FALL OF RAIN.

Bad weather again marred the weekend for sportsmen and holiday makers. Heavy rain fell throughout Saturday afternoon and most sports fixtures had to be postponed. A total of .60 inches was recorded for Saturday. Weather during the holiday periods this season has been particularly bad, rain and high winds having spoilt three of the last four week-ends. The week following Christmas • was the worst experienced since 1928. Threatening clouds and a. gusty south-west' wind on Sunday morning kept many would-be holiday makers at home. Conditions improved slightly later in the day arid a number of people made afternoon excursions to the beaches, but the cold wind did not make bathing very pleasant. As seems to be usual after a bad week-end, Monday dawned bright and sunny, but the sky became cloudy later.
