SHIPPING NEWS.

MONTEREY FROM SYDNEY. WEEK-END ARRIVALS DUE. The liner Monterey arrived this morning from Sydney, and the Rangitata is in port for final loading. Four other cn-erseas vessels arc expected within the next two days, one to load for Home, and the others to discharge here. The Marama is due from Sydney on Monday morning. Bain slightly delayed cargo operations this morning. Monterey arrived this morning and berthed at the Prince's wharf to land passengers and mails from Sydney. She was scheduled to sail at 1 p.m. to-day for Lot, Angeles and San Francisco via Suva, Pago Pago and Honolulu. The vessel is due at San Francisco _ on January 29. (H. and M.) Sultan Star sailed Inst evening with a large cargo of primary produce and general cargo for London. She is voyaging via Panama, and is due at London on February 13. (W. and K. F.) Rangitata arrived this morning from Tokomaru Bay to complete loading for England. She is at the Central wharf, and sails next Friday for London via Panama, being due there on February 22. Her other loading ports were Buff and Napier. (N.Z.S.) Dalryan has reported that she expects to arrive from Java at five o'clock to-morrow evening with a cargo of raw su"-ar for discharge at Chelsea and the South. (A.G.F.) Marama i.s expected at seven o'clock on Monday morning from Sydney with passengers, mails and cargo for Auckland. She has been allotted a .bertt at the Queen's wharf, and is to sail at (.30 the same evening for a three and a Salt days' cruise of northern ports, bne arrives back at her berth next Friday morning, and sails at three o clock tfce same afternoon on the return to Sydney. The Nobel auxiliary schooner Huia is expected from Oamaru, via Port Chalmers, in th« week-end. After unloading at the King's wharf the vessel will undergo her periodical overhaul and surrey. HORATIUS NOW KUMARA. The Aberdeen Line steamer Horatius, which has been acquired by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company has been renamed Kumnra, and is to leave England shortly for Australia. She will not visit New Zealand on this trip. ATMERIC WITH SULPHUR. The Bank Line steamer Aymeric is due from Galveston on Monday to unload sulphur at the King's wharf. The remainder of the cargo is for Port Chalmers. ALTERING THE DORIC STAR. The Blue Star Line steamer Doric Star Iβ being fitted with a new forepart at Palmer's ■ Shipbuilding Company's yard, Tyne. The operation will add 30ft to the vessel's length and increase her speed. After the work has been completed she will enter the New Zealand trade. The Doric Star is a vessel of 10,441 tons, and was built at Glasgow in 1921. MONTEREY'S PASSENGERS. Kaimiro la expected to sail at 8 p.m. to-' day from Greymouth for New Plymouth and Auckland. Kartigi loads at Adelaide about Thursday next, completing at Edlthburg, for Anckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and possibly Duiredin. Wingatui left Wellington at 6.30 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, and on arrival on Monday morning will berth at the Prince'*wharf.
