Original Stories under this heading are invited for our Fortnightly Competition.
"La Fleur," a story quite up to the usual standard, earned for Joan Pain, Folkes Street, New Lynn, age 17, the five-shilling prize for the fortnightly competition just judged. "New Year's Dream" was a story well written by Jean Small, who chose a topical subject and treated it in an original manner. Commended entries were submitted by Iris Reeves, Green Bay; June" Holmes, Stanley Bay; Hazel Beatty, Northern Wairoa; Kathleen Henry, Mount Eden; and Joan Morton, Takapuna.
