"THE MERRY WIDOW."
The New Comic Opera Company is attracting large audiences at His Majesty's Theatre in Franz Lehar's delightful comic opera, "The Merry Widow," which will be staged until next Friday evening. Miss Romola Hansen is seen and heard at her best in the role of Sonia, and Phil Smith is humorous in the character of Popoif. Don Nicol creates much amusement as Nische, and Herbert Browne's excellent tenor voice is heard to advantage in the music allocated in the part o£ Viscount de Jolidon. David Graham maKes an excellent Prince Danilo, and Miss Stella Collier has a good singing role in Natalie. The choruses, the ballets and the picturesque stage settings features of the revival of Lehar's opera, and so is the fine work of the orchestra. On Saturday afternoon and evening, and on three following evenings, the company will stage "Wildflower," and the final production of the season will be "Florodora."
