CODEX PURCHASE.
APPEAL TO BRITISH PUBLIC. (Britisli Official Wireless.) (Received 10 a.m.) RUGBY, January 1. An appeal to the public by the trustees of the Britisli Museum for £30,000 to effect, together with a corresponding sum guaranteed by the Government, the purchase for the nation of the Codex Sihaiticus has been issued by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Prime Minister is among the signatories.
