RAIN IN SUGAR BELT.
DELUGE IN QUEENSLAND. (Received 0.30 a.m.) BRISBANE, January I. A deluge of rain is reported to have fallen in the sugar belt. Kennedy reworded 810 points of rain, Silkwood 800 and Cardwood 725. Townsville averaged 400 points. \ The lightship marking the spit north of Sandy Cape broke adrift during-a cvclone and a steamer reports that the lightship is drifting 75 miles out of her position.
