PERSONAL.
Mr. W. Reed, of Dunedin, is on a visit to Auckland. Sir. and Mrs. J. Rogers, of Sydney, are staying at Hotel Cargeii. Mr. H. G. R. Mason, M.P., arrived from Wellington on Sunday morning. Mr. P. C. Minns left for Wellington, last evening after a short visit to Auckland. Mr. W. R. Fairweather, of Sydney, is visiting his daughter, Mrs. A. J. Hurley, at Northcote. Professor Maxwell Walker left by the Limited last evening to compete in tlio New Zealand championship bowling tournament at Dunedin. The Hon. Lewis Clifford, of Melbourne, chairman of directors of the Hume Pipe Co., Ltd., and the Hume Steel Co., Ltd., is at the Station Hotel. He has been fishing at Lake Taupo. Mr. F. W. Doidge, formerly of Auckland, has been appointed manager of Lane Publications, Ltd., publishers of the London "Daily Express" books. He. is also lion, secretary of Lord Beaverbrook's Empire Crusade movement. The Rev. 11. Lindsey, formerly of the. Wangamii Collegiate School staff, accompanied by Mrs. Lindsey and their two sons, left by the Monowai on Saturday, en route to England, where Mr. Lindsey is to take up educational work.
