OBITUARY.
MR. ENOCH WOOD. The death occurred at his homo at Mount Albert Road on Sunday of Mr. Enoch Wood, aged 87 years, one of the beet known Church workers in Auckland. Born at Grendon, near Coventry, Warwickshire, Mr. Wood came to New Zealand in 1800 by the ship Ida Ziegler. He associated himself with various activities in Auckland and was one of the founders of the Auckland Sunday Schools Union. For 37 years in succession he was superintendent of the Newton Congregational Sunday school, and
on the occasion of his golden wedding anniversary, when 75 years of age, he was appointed superintendent of tho Mount Roskill Congregational Sunday school. In 1872 Mr. Wood married Miss Martha Spragg, younger daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spragg. He is survived by lier and a family of eeven children, Mesdames M. Bradstreet, A. H. Leigh, E. Bushill, H. Harbutt, A. J. Hooton° Miss Wood and Mr. Z. Wood. An elder son, Mr. Enoch Wood, jun., predeceased his father. There are 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
