WORK AT WINGATUI. Northern Horses Arrive. —• Notes on the Training. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. Conditions at Wingatui this morning were ideal for training operations, both the plough and the outside course proper beins in fast condition. The trestles on the latter track were in about 6ft closer to the rails than on Thursday. Teams trained by D. E. Scoullar, T. Lloyd, and <T. J. Lewis arrived from the North overnight, but none of their horsed was worked fast. Grand Finale and Mobile ran seven furlongs on the course proper ill 1.38, but neither was ridden out. Hostage easily beat Snngeni over_ five furlongs on the same track in 1.8 2-5. Gold Paper was going better than l'uir Weather at the end of six furlongs on the plough in 1.16. Some Totf and Vcntrac finished together over seven furlongs on the course proper in 1.3G 2-5. The latter was going tho better. Salmo Salar beat Ballance over a mi'e on the plough in 1.46, the last half being covered in 555. Jacobin rati right away from Gentiei over five furlongs in 1.4 3-5. Unex extended Dismiss in a two-furlong sprint down the straight in 27 2-ss. Meadow Lark had no difficulty in beating Aro Are over live furlongs on the plough in SP/is. Ohhota played with Queen of Song over five furlongs on the course proper in 1.8. Blazon easily held Tippling at the end of six furlongs on the plough in 1.16 2-5. Worship was sent nine furlongs on the course proper, being picked up over the last five by Great Weather. Worship ran his first five furlongs in 1.10 and the full journey in 2.11, easily beating his companion. Brae Lad and Olliver ran five furlongs in 1.9 4-5, the latter showing to better advantage, Morena and Polling Day ran six fur* longs in 1.22, finishing on even terms, Primo and the ROsenor gelding in JEllis, jun.'s, stable ran seven furlongsj the former outclassing his Opponent and rilntting the first half mile in 40s and the list six fm'longs in 1.16 1-5. , Cherry Queen took 1.20 3-5 to run six • furlongs on the plough. _ Bold Brigand easily held fizzy over half a mile on the plough in 555. Plying Amy was beaten by Dressy oyer a mile on the course proper in 1.53 2-j. A large number of horses were indulged I in half.-pace Work.
