CHRISTMAS TREATS.
CHILDREN ENTERTAINED. The children of the members of the Mount Albert Ex-Servicemen's Social Club were entertained on Wednesday xnd Thursday evenings at a Christmas treat organised by the club's members. Hie King George's Hall was decorated for the occasion, and some 500 children received useful gifts and popular deli:acies. The club's concert party amused ihe children and their parents until the irrival of Santa Claus. At the conclusion, the members of the troupe and the executive were thanked for their jfforts by the president, Mr. W. T. White, on behalf of the club. Several hundreds of children attended i Christmas treat at the Epiphany Hall on Wednesday evening. It was irranged by the Newton Unemployed Workers' Association. There was a leavily-laden Christmas tree, and each :hild received a toy from Eather Christmas. Messrs. J. Boyle, Norman Tate ind A. J. Wynn assisted to entertain ;he children. Refreshments were provided, and at the close of the evening :ach mother received a parcel of groicries.
