SANDERS CUP.

SOUTHERN BOATS SELECTED.

Wellington, Canterbury and Otago have each named their boat that will represent the province nt the Sanders Oup contest, commencing at Lyttelton in February.

Wellington's choice is Nigel Blair's Lavina, which was built last year and competed in the trials, but without success. This year she has been reconditioned, and sailed very well against Avalon and Betty. N. Blair has been selected as skipper.

Canterbury lias named Irene as their defender, with A. Sinclair as her skipper, and Otago has selected the old reliable Eileen that won the cup at Auckland a few years ago. In case Kileen is not able to pass the mould test the choice is left to the chairman and one selector. Ouly Southland has still to name its representative, and reading between the lines It will be Kuna or Val, both Aucklnnd-built boats.
