TRAVELLER FINED.
INTOXICATED IN CAR.
HOUSE PARTY AT HUNTLY.

HUNTLY, this day,
Sydney James Foster, aged 25, clothing traveller, of Huntly, pleaded guilty in°the Huntly Magistrate's Court to-day to a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car in Ralph Strec*, Huntly, on November 26. Mr. W. G. Clavis appeared for defendant.
Constable Murray stated that on November 25, as the result of complaints received from several persons living in Ralph Street about a noise in a house where a party was being held, Constables T. Elms and A. E. Hancox went to the house, and, looking up the passage, saw a number of men drinking, and afterwards several came outside. Later defendant came outeide and got into his car. Bt, was about to start his car when Constable Elms warned him, but he showed defiance and Constable Elms ordered him to get out of the car. On Sunday defendant was arrested and allowed bail.
Mr. Clavis, for defendant, stated that accused had no intention of driving home, and had made arrangements for a man named Brooks to drive.
Constable Murray said defendant showed open defiance and was impudent. The magistrate, Mr. F. H. Levien, convicted defendant and fined him £15 and expenses, and ordered his license to be endorsed.
