PROPERTY MARKET.
REVIVAL OF INTEREST. ATTENDANCE AT AUCTION. What is believed to be a revival of interest in the property market of Auckland was indicated at an auction held last niglit by C. F. Bennett, Ltd. Over 100 people attended the sale, at which 41 sections were offered on behalf of the General Trust Board of the Diocese of Auckland. Although bids were in most cases below reserves, prices offered were encouraging. The sum of £800 was paid for the one section sold. It has a frontage of 85 feet to Awatea Road on the Taurarua Estate Extension in Parnell, and has a line view over Hobson Bay and the harbour.
The largest section on the estate, having a frontage of 72 feet to Awatca Road and running right back to a long harbour frontage, was passed in at £1 i 75. No bids were forthcoming for the three sections in St. Stephen's Avenue, nor for a house property. A section in Glanville Terrace was passed in at £350. The remainder of the sections offered, on the Canterbury Placc Estate, and in Brighton Road and Bemuera, raised no response from bidders.
