An adverse report 011 the Waikato Water Supply Company, Limited, Empowering Bill was presented to the House of Representatives this afternoon by the Sclect Committee, which heard evidence 011 the measure.
The committee recommended the setting up of a Metropolitan Water Supply Board for the whole area.
The full text of the committee's report iiS as follows: "We find the allegations of the preamble have not been proved to the satisfaction of the committee. The evidence tendered the committee proved conclusively that it is imperative that an abyndant, clean and permanent supply of water should be provided for the whole of the Auckland metropolitan area.
"The present method of divided control is unsatisfactory, but the committee is of opinion that the interests of the public would be best served by the setting up of a Metropolitan Water Supply Board with full power to control the water supply of such area."

When the decision of the committee was communicated to the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, this afternoon, he said that he would refrain from any comment until he saw the full text of the committee's report.
