FRUIT MARKETING.
AUSTRALIAN INQUIRIES,
LONDON, December 6
The Australian Agents-General, who have been examining the apple trade, are forwarding a report to Australia. It is understood they are unanimously opposed to fixed quotas, and favour a qualitative rather than quantitative restriction.
The Australian representatives are confident England can absorb all the marketable fruit that can be produced in Australia, provided that only the right varieties are sent. The inclusion of inferior fruit ruins the chances of the whole export, whereas the quota probably would favour New Zealand.
