- .SOME SMART SPRINTS. The inside grass was open for fast work at Takanini this'morning. The going was excellent, but there was not a, great deal doing. . • / Gold Pocket amd Exaggeration were both responsible dor a good effort over five furlongs, the distance being covered in-1.2: :•; Gold Poc&et finished in front, but Exaggeration was going well. Haupere, Nicodemus and' Holty Lu jumped off in that order at length, intervals at the fivefurlong post, Holly Xu being in front at the finish, with the- other pair close up. The distance took 1.2 .2-5. Speedmint and Gay Sheila worked at a good pace over a anile and three. furlongs, sprinting home over the last three in 38 2-ss. They went well.- Ammon Ra ran seven furlongs in 1.34, going easily, throughout; • The Jumpers. Tondaleyo (Lacassie); with the assistance of; The Hiker (Walters) over the first two hurdles, jumped three hurdles on the-.course proper, givjing a good display for a novice. , "."'•..'. Thespis',.
