ESTIMATES PASSED. FOURTEEN DEPARTMENTS. REMAINDER NEXT WEEK. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary K(porter.) WELLINGTON", Friday. Fourteen classes of estimates providing for appropriations amounting to £9,500,000 were disposed of by the House of Representatives at to-day's sitting.
The remaining items will be dealt with next week. To-day's effort constitutes a record for recent years. The Classes passed were:— Land for Settlements, £4100. Discharged Soldiers' Settlement, £57,000. State Forests, £125,062. Agriculture, £053,875. Prime Minister's Department, £21,939. Railways, £4,939,450. Treasury, £33,885. Customs, £83,045. k Land and Income Tax, £61,850. Stamp Duties, £80,420. Post and Telegraph, £2,321,851. Tourist, £118,000. Health, £723,016. Mental Hospitals, £262,000.
