Sine a song of woolly wethers, Streaming flown the track, Musterers and dogs behind tliem, vGlnd to hunt them out nnd find them, Hear the stockwhips crack! ■Slieep-men in the grassy dingle, Hear in thought the pleasant jingle Of the golden rain, Cheques and notes —no, no, not single ; Start a glad refrain. Sing a song of combs a-whirring In the wondrous wool. Fleeces dropping from the shear blades (More than "three bags full") ; Piekors-up and lads a-dumping While the prices go a jumping in the land of Bull; Merrily the sweating shearer Plies the busy blade, Brings prosperity much nearer, None need be afraid. Sing a song of lusty voices, British, German, French, Buyers In their pews all shouting From each little bench; .Tean nnd Fritz nnd .Tolin competing At the wild, hilarious meeting —Cosmopolitan. HJiere-mai! A cordial greeting To each woolly man! Sing a song of bales a-squeaking, Dangling from the hook, Bound for Bull (of Bradford, Britain) From this land of Cook: Snug]v stowed in steely bottom Seek the wharf and you may spot "em if von only look, Wool for folks we hope will wear 'em On the far off shore. And when they have worn 'em—tear 'em, Sending out for more. Sing a song of wethers, hoggets, Ewes and lordly rams, Jumbucks dipped and jumbucks greasy, Woolly little lambs; Corriedales and Soutlidowns; others Of the woolly breed, Lambkins and their silly mothers, Song of thanks indeed !
