NEW 3YA STATION.

FIRST UNOFFICIAL TESTS.

CHRISTCHURCH, Friday

Music from the new 3YA station at Gebbies Pass was heard by radio listeners during last night when the first unofficial teste on the air were carried out. Recorded music was sent out on the 720 kilocycles wave-length of station 2YA Wellington. Although it was a test for equipment and not for reception, radio sets in the city received the first broadcast in volume and clarity that surprised listeners. The new station operates officially from December 14.
