BERLIN", November 30,
"Heads are rolling," yelled the newsboys as they rapidly sold the newspapers describing the beheading of six young Communists by a tophatted, frock-coated executioner for shooting two Nazis.
This mass execution was widely discussed, many approving General Goering's refusal to reprieve the "subhumans" guilty of the murder of Brown Shirts.
Others doubt his wisdom and fear that Nazi ruthlessness .will decree a similar fate for 10 Communists sentenced to death for the murder of a Nazi at Desau, for which three have already been beheaded, although the judge pointed out that eight of those convicted were not involved in the actual shooting.
The Hamburg Court, in trying 23 Communists for slightly wounding a Nazi, imposed sentences ranging from 15 to nine years, and seven of the remainder to smaller terms.
