SHIPPING NEWS.

MONOWAI FOR SYDNEY. CITY OF B2DFOKD DUE. Work is remaining steady on the waterfront to-day, and further arrivals due will keep up the average of ships for the week. The Sydney mail leaves by the Monowai this afternoon, and the English mail per Port lluoii now closes at i! p.m., late fee 4 p.m. Monowai leaves at p.m. for Sydney and Melbourne from the Prince's wharf. The vessel is due at Sydney on Sunday afternoon, and, after returning from Melbourne, sails again on December 8 for Wellington. (U.S.S.) Port Hucn will now depart after .> o'clock this evening for London with Dominion produce and mails. She is at the Queen's wharf. (H.li.) Akaroa is due from Bluff to-morrow morning for final loading, and is to sail for Southampton and London, via Panama, on December 13. She will berth at the Queen's wharf. (S.S. and A.)

CJity of Bedford is expected at 0 p.in'. to-day from New York with general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Duncdin. She is to berth at tlie Prince's wharf. (ST.Z.S.) Mariposa is due at 7 o'clock to-morrow morning from Los Angeles and San Francisco, and has been allotted a. berth at the Prince's wharf. She leaves again at •"> ]).in. the same <lav in continuation of her voyage to Sydney and Melbourne. (11. and MaeF.) Cumberland is at the King's wharf to complete loading for London and west, coast of United Kingdom ports. (N.Z.S.) loading for London at the Central wharf, expects to be dispatched for Lyttelton on Monday. (X./4.5.) Tcakwood is expected from the Black Sea with hulk petrol on Saturday afternoon, and will discharge her local consignment at the Western wharf for the Associated Motorists' Petrol Company. After discharge here she proceeds to Portland, Napier, Wellington, Dunedin and Greymoutli. Wingatui was to leave Lyttelton at noon to-day for Wellington and Picton, leaving the latter port at 10 a.m. on Saturday for Auckland. Gabriella sails at ten o'clock to-night for Greymoutli and Westport and is to load at the latter port for Auckland. Wairuna leaves Newcastle about December 7 for Auckland direct. She is due here about Decemiter 13, sailing on December 22 l'or Suva, Apia and Vancouver. Waikawa is duo at noon on Saturday from Los Angeles. THE AOEAXGI. The Union Company's motor liner Aorangi is due 311 Vancouver to-morrow and sails at 10 a.m. on Wednesday next lor \ lCtoria, Honolulu. Suva and Auckland. She is due here on Christmas Day and stills the following day l'or Sydney. THE ABEL TASMAN. The Northern Company advises that the Abel Tnsman was to leave Sydney last night for Auckland and Southern ports. She is due here about next Tuesday. PHOSPHATE CARGO. Henderson and Macfarlane, Limited, have received advice that the steamer Antiope | loft Nauru Island for Auckland on -November 25 with 7550 tons of phosphate for uisi charge here.
