SHIPPING NEWS.

MONOWAI FOR SYDNEY. CITY OF B2DFOKD DUE. Work is remaining steady on the waterfront to-day, and further arrivals due will keep up the average of ships for the week. The Sydney mail leaves by the Monowai this afternoon, and the English mail per Port lluoii now closes at i! p.m., late fee 4 p.m. Monowai leaves at p.m. for Sydney and Melbourne from the Prince's wharf. The vessel is due at Sydney on Sunday afternoon, and, after returning from Melbourne, sails again on December 8 for Wellington. (U.S.S.) Port Hucn will now depart after .> o'clock this evening for London with Dominion produce and mails. She is at the Queen's wharf. (H.li.) Akaroa is due from Bluff to-morrow morning for final loading, and is to sail for Southampton and London, via Panama, on December 13. She will berth at the Queen's wharf. (S.S. and A.)

CJity of Bedford is expected at 0 p.in'. to-day from New York with general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Duncdin. She is to berth at tlie Prince's wharf. (ST.Z.S.)
