Howler monkeys inliabit the tropical jungles of Central America. In favourable conditions, their roars can be heard at a distance of more than two miles. They liowl at the least disturbance, and, much of the time, for 110 apparent reason. The females and young, led by a loud-voiced male, greet the break of day in a combined chorus which makes the >voods ring.
