OTAHUHU PROPOSAL.
HIGH SCHOOL ASSEMBLY HALL The committee of the Otahuhu Tech-nical-High school proposes to build a temporary gymnasium and assembly to a® letter which was considered by the board yesterday. The board's approval was sought. It was stated that the building would be of wood frame and corrugated iron, of a size 90ft by 40ft to be erected by No.
5 scheme and volunteer labotir. A private offer had been received of £400 for five years at 5 per cent. While members were sympathetic to the need for an assembly hall and a gymnasium, they did not wish ultimate financial liability to fall on the board. Mr. E. C. Purdie said that if it could be arranged that no such contingency would arise, then there was no reason why the people of Otahuhu should not Jiave their hall. As a preliminary step,' the matter is to lie referred to the architect for a report.
