DRAINAGE BOARD FINANCE

(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Provisions in the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Amendment Bill, authorising the. board to borrow in anticipation of income, liave ; been redrafted by the Local Bills Committee of the House. It is laid down that any indebtedness must not exceed three-quarters of the total income of the previous year, or, for one year, a sum greater than the amount of the income then unpaid. The board has authority also to deposit money at interest with approved contributory bodies.
