Mrs. V. Paykel, of Epsom, leaves for Australia on Friday, where she will ill future reside. Mrs. T. N. Maxwell, of Elgar Street, Epsom, leaves to-morrow on a short holiday to Rotorua. * * ♦ * Mrs. R. T. Smith, of Putaruru, Mrs. D. Mcßae, of Ruawai and Mrs. S. Smith, of Wellington, are at the Station Hotel. Mrs. C. Court, of Stanley Bay, leaves on Saturday by motor car for Rotorua, where she will be the guest of Mrs. Griffiths. * * » « Mrs. J. B. Mcintosh, of Corunna Avenue, Parnell, leaves by the Monowai and intends spending a holiday in Sydney and Melbourne. * * * * Mrs. Ernest Davis, of Kohiinarama, leaves by the Mariposa on Friday on a visit to Melbourne, where she will be the guest of her mother, Mrs. Mitchell. * * * * Great interest is centred in the work of the Victoria League, and the Christmas work for the baekblocks will bo on view for the public at their rooms, Pacific Building, on December S. * * » » At the "Speech Day" held yesterday in the Auckland Girls' Grammar School the prizes were won as follow: Upper school, Nancy Graham (Captain Scott); middle school, Mary Davidson (Napoleon) ; lower school, Patricia Anderson (Captain Scott).
