THEFTS IN COUNTRY.
"This man, who is at present serving a five years' sentence, has also- been declared an habitual criminal," said Detective-Sergeant O'Sullivan in the Police Court this morning, referring to Archibald Andrew Charles Scott, aged 39, engineer. Scott pleaded guilty to two charges of theft and two of unlawfully converting a horse valued at £4 and a cycle worth £3 to his own use. Mr. O'Sullivan said Scott took the horse and other things from farms as he was travelling about the country. The present charges were merely brought to clean up the files.
