THEFTS IN COUNTRY.

"This man, who is at present serving a five years' sentence, has also- been declared an habitual criminal," said Detective-Sergeant O'Sullivan in the Police Court this morning, referring to Archibald Andrew Charles Scott, aged 39, engineer. Scott pleaded guilty to two charges of theft and two of unlawfully converting a horse valued at £4 and a cycle worth £3 to his own use.
