SUMMER TIME.

DAYLIGHT SAVING. ADDITIONAL SIX WEEKS. GOVERNMENT'S PROPOSAL. (By Telegraph.— Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Approximately six weeks will be added to the duration of the lialf-hour daylight saving in New Zealand if Parliament approves a Government bill, which the Hon. J. A. Young, Minister

of Interna! Affairs, introduced into the House this afternoon.

At present the advancing of the clock by half -an hour . commences on the Second Sunday in October, and terminates on the third Sunday in March. The bill proposes that daylight saving start on the last Sunday in September and conclude on the last Sunday in April. The design of the measure is to include the Easter period, and the altered dates will make this possible for, it is estimated, the next 30 years. If- the bill is passed the extended term of duration will operate during the current season.
