CHURCH BAZAAR.

The Oddfellows' Hall, Avondale, was the scene of much activity when the Presbyterian Ladies , Guild held their annual bazaar. There was & large attendance at the opening, which was performed by Sir James Parr. Sir James, who was introduced by the Rev. J. H. Combes, expressed much pleasure at again meeting so many of his old friends; Keen interest was taken in the baby show, the following gaining prizes: Nancy and Tom Hollier, Marion Coggins, Joan Leonard.' The following were in charge of the various stalls: Sweets, Mesdames Burgees, Wilson, Miss Browne; drapery, Mesdames Scott, Cullum, Donaldson; produce, Mesdames Weir, McKendrick; cake, Mesdames Duncan, Thomassen, Da vies; tea, Mesdames Bird, McGregor, J. Cullum; baby show, Mrs. Mazze (judge). Miss Mazze; cooking demonstration, Mrs. Morey. ' An excellent concert, arranged by Messrs. Spence, Weir and Duncan, was given in the evening, the • following contributing iteme: The Laurie Quartet, Mesdames Black, Owens, Breeze, Davie, Miss Barton, Misses Jean and Doris McKenzie, Messrs. Brodie, Thom, Shortridge, Myatt and Jeffcott. Accompaniments were ably played by Mrs. McKenzie.
