BOYS FOR FARMS.

SITUATIONS STILL VACANT. COMMITTEE'S POSITION. That there is still a dearth in Auckland of boys for farm w£fc-k was emphasised this morning by the president of the Boys' Employment Committee, Sir Joseph Smith. No boys were available at the office of the committee this morning when a lady called to engage one for farm work. She said that ehe urgently needed an assistant, and, if she could not get a boy, she knew several girle who were looking for work and she would engage one. The committee emphasised the fact that fair wages have always been demanded for boys engaged through their agency. The minimum for inexperienced boys was 5/ a week, and for experienced boys, 7/0 a week. Some in the latter class had obtained work, through the committee, at 15/ a week.
