WAITANGI BRIDGE.
PROCEDURE FOLLOWED.

WELLINGTON, Tim rsday.
Following the usual practice, the Public Works Department applied to the Marine Department for ite approval of the erection of the bridge that is to span the Waitangi River.
Advising Mr. H. M. Rusliworth (Country, Bay of Islands) to this effect in the House yesterday, the Hon. J. Bitchener, Minister of Public Works, mentioned also that the district engineer at Whangarei was conferring on the subject with the Bay of Islands Harbour Board.
