UNLUCKY IN RUNNING.
Nightguard, the five-year-old full-brother to Phar Lap, for whom Mr. A. Louisson paid a big price as a yearling, finished only third in the Middleton Handicap at Riccarton on Monday, but with a good run he might have won (says a southern writer). It was only his second start since he was operated'on for wind trouble.
