INDIA AND JAPAN.
Import Quotas Mutually Agreed Upon. TEXTILES AND RAW COTTON. (Uuited P.A.-Electric Telegraph—Copjrigbt) (Received 11.30 a.m.) CALCUTTA, November 6. A commercial treaty is reported to have been reached at New Delhi today between the India Government and Japan following the* settlement of differences over the quotas of Indian imports o£ cotton textiles from Japan and Japanese purchases of Indian raw cotton. The agreement, which will probably be made effective from November 10, will be on the basis of 'the terms oiTored by India, namely, 410,000,000 yards of piecegoods imports and 1,000,000 bales of raw cotton exports.
TALKS IN LONDON.
INDUSTRY AND FINANCE. (Received 12 noon.) LONDON, November 6. ' The trade conversations between Britain and Japan, relating to markets for the respective countries' cotton i.idustries opened to-day in private. It is understood that the Japanese delegates presented documents relating to the industrial and financial situation in Japan and that discussions took place on that subject. The conference was adjourned. Admiral K. Okada (Japan) declared it was impossible to make a statement till the conversations were completed.
