TRIP CANCELLED.

STEAMER WAIPAHI. NO CREW AVAILABLE. DISPUTE OVER MANNING. The sailing of the Union Steam Ship Company's steamer Waipahi for Westport to-day had to be cancelled owing to inability to get a crew signed on.

When the steamer was to have been commissioned yesterday it was found that no seamen would sign on unless the company included in the complement one man whom the company was not prepared to accept. On this point no finality, could be reached between the seamen and the company, and the latter then decided to abandon the trip.

The Waipahi lias been laid up for a considerable time, but recently it was decided to put her back in the Islands trade. She was to make one trip to Westport, and then return to load for the Islands-.
