Gay Sheila- duly prevailed in the Great Northern Guineas, the minor places being filled by another well-fancied candidate in Sea Fox and Spiral. Baroscope was the victor in the Mitchelson Cup, in which View Halloo and Speedmint filled the other places. Puss Moth was first home in the Shorts, the open sprint, L'Allegro and Porotiti also paying dividends for places. The Mitchelson Cup was won by Baroscope.
