ART UNION FUNDS.
MINISTER'S ALLOCATIONS. GRANTS MADE TO AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday; The following allocations from the "Happy Moments" art union, which closed on October 21, are announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs:—
Relief of distress, £2500 (to be distributed on a pro rata basis of unemployed registrations as at the latest date available to localities showing registrations totalling 60 or more); Women's National Reserve, residential nursery, Wellington, £500; Prisoners' Aid Society, Auckland (Rev. G. E. More? ton), £300j* West Coast Competition Society, in the reduction of liabilities, £200; TaranaTci Metropolitan Agricultural Society, in the reduction of liabilities, £1000.
Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Association, in the reduction of liabilities, £1000; Association of New Zealand Art Societies, to provide travelling scholarship, £300; Aorangi Ski Club, to liquidate debts incurred in the erection of the chalet at the Tasman. Glacier, £500; Wanganui Development League, for a youths' afforestation camp established by the League for Unemployed Youths between the ages of 1G and 20, £230; Waimate Horticultural, Agricultural and Industrial Society, to liquidate the debt on its hall, £400.
Buckland's Beach Domain Board, to liquidate, advances made by local residents to meet the hoard's debts, £325; Greenmeadows Progressive Association, to liquidate the bank overdraft, £400; Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Rangiora, to assist in liquidating liabilities, £500. Total, £8175.
