HOPMAN BEATS McGRATH. SYDNEY, November 3. inter-State tennis championships, New South Wales versus Victoria, were begun to-day. In the principal singles H. O. Hopman defeated Vivian McGrath, 6-3, 4—6, 6—4; Crawford defeated Holloway, 6—l, 6—3, and K. Dunlop defeated Tonkin, 6—3, 6—4.
