WASHED ASHORE.
Seaman's Body Wearing Parma Lifebelt. BARQUE NOT REPORTED. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, November 2. The barque Parma, -which sailed for Australia on October 4, has not been spoken since. A seaman's body, wearing a Parma lifebelt, was washed ashore at Deauville, France, on October 28. He had apparently been in the water 25 days. The Parma carried two passengers, Commander Bircliam, seeking sailing data for the Admiralty, who was accompanied by his wife.
The agents have no fear for the safety of the Parma. They think the body may have been washed overboard and not rescued in heavy seas. .
