THE SYNOD AND THE BIBLE.

Reading the different letters from correspondents on the above subject which have appeared from time to time in your paper wakes one realise how entirely backward some human beings are spiritually. They seek some tangible material object to grasp, so they clutch at Jonah and the whale and Lot's wife, as in the childhood of civilised times. Never did the Spirit of God move with a clearer light to guide the world than at the present time. We are surrounded by miracles for wonderment of thought from the first light of dawn until the evening star shines across the harbour. And out; of the greatest of all miracleis the Divine plan of evolution. We should thank the Church of England. It has been true to its trust in taking the lead. VERITAS.
