ON THE DOMAIN.

SUBURBAN' ASSOCIATION. FINISH OF FIRST SERIES. The opening series of senior matches under the auspices of the Auckland City and Suburban Association, commenced last Saturday, will be concluded at the Domain Ground to-morrow afternoon. Interruptions by rain last week shortened the playing time, with the result that none of the three games developed to give a definitely winning position to any side, and special interest will attach to the first two hours' play .to-morrow, which will no doubt decide the fate of the teams for Ithe games concerned. Harbour Board made 116 runs for eight wickets against Mount Roskill, a total which does not. leave the .former side by any means safe. Ponsonby's 156 for nine against R.V. is also not beyond the compass of the latter side in ordinary circumstances. With 179 runs on for five, Mount Albert-Old Boys look like setting Green Lane a big hurdle, but the latter team may make a draw of it.

Teams for lower grades are:— • MOUNT KOSKILL. Third Grade. —Brindle, Clarke, Dally (2), Hookey, Littlejohn, Jackson, Morrm, Stevens, Ward, Kirkham, Noal, Hanson. EDENDALE. Third Grade. —Warren, Bruce, James, McMurtrie, Blockley, Currie, Sauvain, Hood, Home, Faithful, Driver, Harvey.

THE PUNJAB BATS WELL.

INDIAN CAPTAIN FOR TESTS. CALCUTTA, November 2. In reply to the Marylebone Cricket Club's 402 for seven wickets declared, the Punjab (Governor's eleven) seored 253 for eight wickets (Nayudu 116; Langridge four for 63, and Nichols three for 77). The Bengal Cricket Association has nominated Major C. K. Nayudu for the captaincy of the Indian Test teams to play against England at Bombay, Calcutta and Madras. It is certain that the Indian Control Board will agree to this choice.
