Waikato to the Waitemata will solve the water problem and protect the city ratepayers from any further expenditure in the Waitakeres, at the same time providing a safe standby scheme from which they may draw to meet their increasing requirement at some future date. It may not be too much to expect that a business arrangement may be arrived at between the company and the city to secure a permanent interest in the undertaking that will be taken over by the districts free of cost at the expiration of the sinking fund period, as provided for in the bill.
