PREPARATIONS FOR CARNIVAL WEEK. Red Shadow, one of the favourites in the New Zealand Trotting Cup, to be decided at Addington (Christchurch) on Tuesday, being "dressed" at the stable of the trainer, J. Bryce.
SHATTERED. The telegraph post which was struck by a heavily laden motor lorry In Newton Road late yesterday afternoon. The driver escaped injury and was able to drive the lorry away under its own power.
