WOMEN'S INSTITUTES
OMAHA AND PAKIRI. The annual flower slio\V and monthly meeting was held in the Leigh Hall on October 18. There was a good attendance of members and visitors and a good display of flowers. During the afternoon Mrs. Culpan and Mrs. Heywood, of Wellsford, rendered items, which were very much appreciated, as also was a song by Miss B. Story. A musical competition played by Mrs. Story was won by Miss Broome. The winners of the monthly competition were: — Sponge sandwich, Miss Ashton 1, Mrs. Gozar 2, Miss Matheson 3; marmalade, v Mrs. A. J. Matheson 1, Mrs. Ashton 2, Miss Ashton 3; tinsel pictures, Mrs. R. D. Matheson 1, Mrs. A. J. Matheson 2, Mrs. Ashton 3. A jumble and produce stall was very well patronised, and considerably augmented the funds. A beautiful Christmas cake, made and donated by Mrs. E. D. Harper, was won by Mrs. A. Wyatt and Miss J.
